Sick of PC snobs? Bossjimbob gives his rebuttal on why console gaming is THE platform of choice.

Ever encounter a PC snob in the wild? They're those elitist types whose forum signatures read like a Newegg shopping receipt. Every single part they've crammed into their rig they're going to tell you about (not that you asked), and whenever there is a forum topic about a multi-platform game, they like to throw in that little jab, "Yeah, well the PC version is the best one," followed by a laundry list of graphical buzzwords that would give John Carmack a stiffy. "But d00d, I can run the game in 2024x19000 with 18x FSAA, blimp-mapping, and full specular nosehair shading! I bet your Kakkbox can't do that!!!1!"

Sure PC gaming is good for some things. Like draining your wallet. But all sarcasm aside, I'd like to lob a rebuttal at fellow staff writer Walter Hurdle for his piece on PC gaming "superiority." In it, he likened consoles as the Toyota Camrys of digital entertainment, with the stately PC playing the part of a sleek Porsche—exotic, nubile, and the plaything of the wealthy. I've got some news for you, Walt. You're in the minority. Console gaming is where it's at, and no crusty futz is going to tell me different.

Choose your weapon.

I used to be a PC gamer. A few years back I shelled out a few thousand bucks on my first machine. She was sweet. I even paid extra money to upgrade her memory, buy the largest display, and outfit her with killer speakers. All my games looked and sounded great. I got butter smooth framerates on all my shooters and every adventure game in my collection ran without a hitch.
