Hardcore Wii Fanboy

Still not enough for you? Do you bleed, eat, and breathe Nintendo? Well then, lets take it one step further and throw budget right out the window. Here are the best of the rest of the launch for the Nintendo Wii.

1. Rayman Raving Rabbids
Price: $49.99

While it may be surprising (and to some, disappointing,) that Rayman’s next adventure is in fact a collection of 70 minigames rather than a straight platformer, what isn’t surprising is that the game still retains its trademark look and sense of humor. Raving Rabbids is looking to provide gamers with a unique experience by implementing the Wii controller in ways that will make you think “What were those developers on when they thought of this?”

2. Elebits
Price: $49.99

Elebits is one of those titles that the Wii was made for. It’s simple, unique, innovative, and accessible to people of all ages whether they are 8 or 80. Players simply travel throughout a house with some kind of gravity manipulating laser and try to find these little creatures known as Elebits. The game won high accolades at TGS and is sure to be even better when it launches along with the Wii this November.

3. Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Price: $49.99

While Second Opinion may seem to be just a straight port of the original DS title, looks can be deceiving. Along with a new control scheme, Second Opinion also offers several new operations, a new playable character, and a couple of new tools like a defibrillator. Most importantly though is the new control scheme that adds an entire new level of challenge to this already challenging game.

4. Retro Controller
Price: $19.99

One of the coolest features about the Wii is the Virtual Console that enables gamers to purchase and play classic games throughout gaming history. Nintendo has promised 60 virtual console titles to be available by the end of 2006, with 10 games to be released per month after that. For gamers that are looking to relive their childhood gaming memories, or those looking to get educated in gaming history, a Retro Controller is a must have.

Total Price: (Includes everything in the Budget and Casual Gamer Packages)
$629.90

So there you have it. No matter what your budget is, the Wii launch should keep you plenty satisfied until games like Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl are released sometime next year. For the most hardcore of hardcore Wii fans, just know that you can get the Wii console, an extra nunchaku/Wiimote controller, a retro controller, and six top notch Wii games all for just a little bit more than what it would cost to get just a PS3. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.
