Since I brought up the Wii Fit trend, I'm sure Issac Asimov is looking down and laughing at people hooking up to video game machines to get in shape. Millions of people, my sister among them, are tearing apart game and electronics stores to get a copy.

You know, if getting in shape were that important I'm sure these people would have joined a gym or God forbid - gone outside. Word is that 24 Hour Fitness will cash in on the Wii Fit fad by rewiring their machines to generate cute little avatars that call their customers "overweight."
There are lots of legal wranglings going on, with several hundred Tecmo employees suing the company for thousands of hours unpaid overtime. Didn't EA go through this a while back? You'd think if companies were stopping just short of slave labor they'd crank out more innovative products. Count the number of non-sequel games these two companies have cranked out in the past decade. I understand Tecmo's bringing a Tecmo Bowl update for the Nintendo DS.
Does that really require thousands of extra man hours? They must be adding those hour-long cutscenes. As a side note, I understand it will be the trial of the century with Phoenix Wright being hired to defend Tecmo.
Of course, the drama between EA and Take-Two continues as EA keeps extending the deadline for its takeover bid. They don't ever increase the price they're offering though. EA keeps trying to spin it as if Grand Theft Auto is all Take-Two brings to the table. Even if that were true, GTA alone would be worth more than EA's currently offering.
EA's current business plan would be like making a $200 offer for George Lucas' empire and saying "Yeah, what's he done other than Star Wars? This is a fair price." I'd rather see Take-Two sell to the vendor from Resident Evil 4. He'd buy it at a high price.
