Rumor: Quieter 360 Via Software Update

Home : News : News Story

German site claims journalists with debug units already have the update which reduces Xbox 360 noise.

Cynamite claim that a new software update has been sent out to journalists with debug consoles. The update reportedly reduces the amount of noise that the Xbox 360 produces when it is playing games or reading from the DVD drive.

Could we soon all be playing on quieter 360s? The real question is how this software update works, and if it affects performance. If it simply reduces the spin speed of the DVD drive, it could potentially increase load times.
