The folks over at Engadget have unearthed a somewhat interesting video on YouTube from user “obiwan222222” in which he uses his Playstation Portable to play Nintendo Wii games, it even has its own custom made sensor bar for the Wii Remote!

The way its done is by using Sony’s LocationFree software to patch through the video signal via WiFi. Unfortunately the system is far from flawless, there is at least a five second lag at all times and with the custom sensor bar on top of the PSP you can pretty much rule out any additional portability.

Nevertheless it’s a fairly intriguing homebrew experiment if nothing else, and although some have doubts about the authenticity of the video, the young man sounds far to sweet and innocent to be a liar in our opinion. Why not judge for yourself using the embedded video player below?
