New limited edition black 360 to come with HDMI and 120GB hard drive for US$479 in late April.
We can finally put all those rumors to rest! Today, Game Informer magazine broke official news that the black Xbox 360 is indeed coming. Here are the confirmed details:
It's called Xbox 360 Elite, and will be a limited production run sold alongside the existing Core and Premium versions.
HDMI output (also comes with HDMI cable).
120GB Hard Drive (available seperately for under US$200 for those with Core or Premium Xbox 360s).
Case, controller and headset will be all black.
US$479 price.
Release set for late April, 2007.
After all Elites are sold, the Premium consoles will then include the 120GB hard drive and HDMI port.
Elite will run cooler, but it has not been confirmed if this is because it will use the 65nm chip.
It is estimated that 120GB / HDMI will become standard for Premiums around the end of Summer/Fall of 2007 in the U.S. Prices should remain the same at that point (US$399).
