Retailers Getting Desperate Down Under?

Home : News : News Story

Sales of the PS3 in Australia have been rather sluggish since launch. Just look at what this JB Hi-Fi store has done to convince potential buyers.

We came across this photo over at MyGEN.com.au. Apparently, this JB HiFi store has put up the sign pictured, which tells customers that there will be no PS3 price drop until 2009. Clearly, the store believes that many customers are holding off on a purchase, in the hope of there being a price drop some time soon. By informing people that there will be no such price drop, the store clearly hopes people will think to themselves "Well, I might as well just suck it up and buy one now, rather than wait for nothing."

Imagine all the angry customers if Sony do announce a price drop in the next two years. That wouldn't be good for business. That wouldn't be good for business at all!
