Sierra Entertainment has announced a new SWAT game in development by 3G Studios will be making its handheld debut later this year exclusively for Sony’s PSP console.
Titled SWAT: Target Liberty, the game features a script penned by Scott Rosenbaum, who was previously responsible for the hit TV series The Shield. Players assume command of Ken Thatcher, who leads his team of fellow SWAT officers against the usual array of terrorists and other sorts.
Each member of the team will have his own special abilities, and the game promises around 12 missions for the single player campaign, along with a proposed four-play multiplayer wireless matches.
“Sierra Entertainment has a rich history of creating SWAT games that are immersive and full of intense action. We don’t intend to disappoint with this upcoming version for the PSP system,” commented Cindy Cook, chief strategy and marketing officer for Vivendi Games.
“SWAT: Target Liberty was designed specifically for the PSP system to ensure it delivers a full featured, high energy operation that lives up to what fans expect from these hit tactical titles. The genuine feel of the game adds to the adrenalin rush and excitement gamers will experience on their PSP systems this autumn.”
