The July 11 issue of Fortune magazine will feature an article about Nintendo's success with the Wii. Most of the article is already available on the CNN Money site. The article is mostly well researched and written, with interesting details on the history of Nintendo's consoles through time, up until the current success with the Wii. It is a little too soon to be declaring victory in the console war, especially with analysts predicting the Wii-craze will wear off later this year or early next once the PS3 kicks into high-gear. Whether that eventuates is anybody's guess, but our point is still the same: it ain't over yet!
Certain parts of the article are a little exaggerated. For example, one part says, "At the Nintendo World store in New York City's Rockefeller Center, shipments arrive nightly. In the wee hours customers begin lining up around the block. Doors open at nine, and a few hours later the consoles are gone." According to one well-known game blogger, there are always Wiis for sale at the Nintendo World Store.
Regardless, the article makes for great reading, so head on over and check it out!
