Sonic 2 is probably one of the best Sonic games, if not one of the best platformers of all time. The levels are a classic affair of lush green forest and steel industrial zones mixed in with the ubiquitous casino levels. Sonic 2 also marked the first appearance of Sonic's side-kick Tails, and added the well-known super-spin-dash attack, performed by holding down on the d-pad and hitting the action button to charge up the attack and send your character hurtling across the landscape!

The ESRB has rated Sonic 2 'E' for everyone on the Xbox 360 and Wii. It's safe to assume, then, that the game will eventually make its way onto both platforms some time this year. At this stage nobody knows when. Not even the blue hedgehog himself.
