80GB PS3 Launches In Korea

Home : News : News Story

Sony launches their next-gen console in Korea, with a boosted hard drive to support the included video on demand service in the country.

Who'd have thought Korea would be the first place on earth to receive an 80GB version of the PS3? Traditionally, Korean gamers are more interested in MMOs and Starcraft. However, with the launch of the PS3 in the country, Sony has seen fit to bolster the storage space of the console to help support the demands of the included and localised video on demand service.

The PS3 costs around US$560 in Korea. The launch reportedly went well, with a packed house of media in attendance, and the first PS3s being sold on the spot to those who wanted them.
