Super Mario Galaxy is, as if you don’t already know, the latest true 3D platformer in the Mario series (following Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine). It is scheduled to launch on the Wii later this year.

The game itself is mostly set in outer space, with players able to maneuver Mario from planet to planet. Each of these has its own specific gravitational force which will affect the plumbers jumping abilities.

As with previous titles, the core aim of Galaxy is to collect Stars, which are awarded by completing certain objectives or besting various opponents across the game’s 40 galaxies and six specially-themed locations.
