Microsoft is looking to bring a variety of content from the BBC such as high definition TV programmes to its Xbox Live service in the near future.
According to the Ross Honey, senior director for media at the company’s content and partner strategy group, Microsoft is currently in talks with the BBC and other European companies to provide users with a multitude of content via the online service.
"We are working diligently on multiple fronts to make it happen," said Honey, adding, "The BBC is a great content provider."
North American consumers can already download video content over Xbox Live thanks to partnerships with companies including CBS, Disney and MTV.
