International publisher establishing a ten-person team in Chengdu.

More than a decade after the establishment of its Shanghai studio, Ubisoft is expanding in China, adding an office in Chengdu, located in the Sichuan province.

According to Ubisoft, the city generates 35,000 software programming graduates each year, which will provide a talent pool to increase the initial 10-person team to 200 in a year.

Christine Burgess Quemard, Ubisoft Worldwide Studios executive director, said that the success of the Ubisoft Shanghai studio, most recently responsible for the PlayStation 3 port of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (above), showed that there was room for a new studio in the world's most populous country.
