This Week’s Virtual Console Releases

Ninja Gaiden II, Metal Marines and Gate of Thunder have all joined the US Virtual Console’s library of downloadable games.


As of 9 a.m. Pacific Time yesterday morning, three new titles have been made available for download via the Nintendo Wii’s shop channel for use with the Virtual Console system. They are as follows:

Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos; this sequel to the original Ninja Gaiden outing follows Ryu Hayabusa on a quest to rescue Irene Lew and destroy the Sword of Chaos. 500 Wii Points.

Metal Marines; a Super Nintendo title set in the near future, by which time the Earth has fallen into disarray following the Anti-matter War. Players must use their real-time strategy skills to fend off the Imperial Federation. 800 Wii Points.

Gate of Thunder; this week’s sole TurboGrafx16 title is a side-scrolling shooter that puts players in control of Hawk, an undercover agent tasked with stopping the onslaught of the Obbellon fighters. 800 Wii Points.
