Cryptic Studios isn't acknowledging anything yet, but Trekmovie.com says their sources have confirmed the famed-MMO developer is working on Star Trek Online.

Cryptic apparently stepped in after the project went belly up at P2 Entertainment. The popular web portal for all things Trek said Cryptic is assessing the state of the game and deciding what to keep and what to throw out.

If done well, there is almost no limit to how much gold-pressed latinum this game could make. If anything could potentially surpass World of Warcraft for sheer ability to make people leave the real world for several days, this game could.
