Full retail version and free demo both on the way.

Electronic Arts and Maxis yesterday confirmed that both the full retail version of Spore's Creature Creator, and a free downloadable demo version, will be made available on June 17, 2008.

“We are thrilled to finally be putting the creative tools of Spore into the hands of players around the world,” said Will Wright, chief designer at Maxis.

“The amazing creations players design this summer will help populate the game universe we all enter when Spore ships this September, so in a sense, the Spore Creature Creator is the birth of Spore.”

The free demo version of the Creature Creator will feature around 25% of the content found in the full version, which will be sold at $9.99/€9.99. Creatures crated with both will be usable in the final release of Spore later this year.
