Pitting the top players from the U.S. and Japan against each other.
Pokémon USA today announced the Pokémon Video Game Showdown, an upcoming tournament which will pit the most skilled Pokémon Diamond and Pearl players from North America and Japan against each other.
"Pokémon strives to create fun products and events for players of all skill levels and interests," said J.C. Smith, director of marketing for Pokémon USA, Inc.
"The Pokémon Video Game Showdown provides the most skilled Pokémon players an opportunity to determine who is truly the best."
The final event is scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida on August 16. To qualify, entrants must win one of two qualifier tournaments, which will take place in Los Angeles and New York on July 12 and July 19, respectively.
Those wishing to take part in the qualifier events will furs need to register and complete a quiz at Showdown.Pokemon.com. Good luck!
