New achievements and ranking system coming to Halo 3 multiplayer.
Bungie announced late Thursday that Title Update 2 will be coming to Halo 3 this Tuesday, Sept. 23. The patch will add a new, playlist-specific ranking system and the recently revealed new achivements.
The ranking system will assign military ranks for individual multiplayer playlists, much like the experience-based system currently in use for a player's overall profile.
Bungie.net itself will have a slew of new stat-tracking options, including an option to bring up two players' statistical profiles on the same page for easy comparison and mocking of your friend's ineptitude.
Also, there are many playlist changes coming with the Sept. 23 update. Rocket Race and both ranked and social flavors of big team battle (the only mode to feature eight-on-eight fights) will be retired, and modified versions of Epitaph and Snowbound will be inserted into the matchmaking system.
