Little is known about the new third race, other than their name: the Scrin. These newcomers are insectoid aliens armed with the most cutting-edge technology. In a recent podcast EA mentioned that the Scrin are "powerhouses" with uncommonly strong end-game units.

All the classic C&C elements seem to be back in the new game. Players will harvest Tiberium, deploy bases from MCVs (Mobile Construction Vehicles), occupy buildings (introduced in later C&C games), and surprise the enemy with superweapons (such as the Scrin's devastating mothership). And don't forget tank rushes! Just kidding - EA has spent a lot of time testing the game's unit balance, as well as providing for AI skirmish opponents with different play styles, including rushing, "turtling," and hit-and-run.
Another returning popular feature is live-action video sequences, both between and during missions. The actors featured in C&C3 include Tricia Helfer, Josh Holloway, Michael Ironside, Grace Park, Billy Dee Williams, and others. The game will have a total of more than 90 minutes of video.
