The session we all got to play was about five minutes into the game, though honestly this type of game is not my specialty in any way. Previous Metal Gear games left me wanting to break heavy objects in frustration. This time there wasn’t an issue with camera controls, which was great, but the genre is simply not my style, meaning death refused to part with me. While 15 minutes wasn’t exactly enough time to accomplish much, thankfully my station was far enough away to not gain attention. And no photography was allowed.

Most importantly is that MGS4 looks so solid, so well kept and polished, it’s hard to believe the game isn’t already done. Nothing has been left out, or so it seems, and while it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, there is so much that makes it great. Whether it’s the intrepid story, spectacular graphics, stealth gameplay or the ability to run over bad guys while hiding in a barrel, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a force to be reckoned with. But don’t hold your breath; there are currently no plans for a demo, but a Japanese beta is in the works. We’ll just have to wait a few more months for the final version.
