The whole aspect of acquiring power ups and using them against your opponent, either locally or online, adds a whole new dimension to the game. These battles aren’t just about who can make the most points…it’s about who can go the longest without breaking down. Anyone who plays the game knows that too many mistakes and you won’t want to go on. That holds so very true with this gametype.

With 62 confirmed tracks and over 70 that will be on the full game, what Guitar Hero 3 lacks in extra peripherals it makes up in serious guitar play, drastic improvements, and a much easier to swallow pricetag. The majority of us can get just the game for $60 and use our current guitars while Rock Band won’t sell without a bundle until (estimated) early 2008. So keep your wallet and your fingers happy with this improved masterpiece.
