Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars

Both missions are fully fleshed out with real-life cut scenes (as the series if famous for) and a full introduction to the scenario you will be facing. We won’t give away too much right now, but it is worth noting there is plenty of background information available even in the demo should you seek it. Again you take control of small GDI forces and are given the chance to build up a base as well as invade rival Nod infrastructures. Each mission is split into a series of compulsory and optional objectives which are updated as you progress and do certain things. You can select from three difficult ratings (easy, normal and hard respectively) to either ease yourself in or try something a little more challenging!

City's will burn!

Finally we have the singular skirmish map entitled ‘Small town USA’ which is playable once again using GDI as they take on NOD forces. The map supports two players and four difficult settings (there will be more options in the final release of course). There are plenty of empty buildings to either inhabit or destroy on your way to enemies bases which is always fun. Overall the map is rather small meaning fierce and frequent battles are going to be the name of the game here, as opposed to the longer base-building skirmishes that many gamers will know and love.

Advanced missile units unleash misery!

Highs
It’s free! Not only that but there is lots to get stuck into and it’s far more forgiving on your PC’s hardware than say, Supreme Commander!

Lows
Some online features would have been nice but for a single player demo we couldn’t really ask for much more!

Final Verdict
So to conclude by answering our original question; is it worth you downloading this demo? Well, simply put, yes it is! As we have mentioned you get a detailed look at how the game works, an introduction to the plot, a glimpse at the majesty of the engine and how much it can handle on screen at any one time, essentially everything you could possibly want for a single player demo! Admittedly the file size is a little hefty, but in today’s age of super-speedy broadband connections it certainly isn’t ridiculous by any means! We spent over an hour and a half on the tutorial and campaign missions alone, and a good deal more messing around on skirmish, so you’ll certainly be getting your (lack of) moneys worth too!
